This is not the usual Spring Time Snowpack in the Cascades

The snow pack in and around the Stevens Pass area is a mixture of Maritime and Continental layering conditions.
Some back country reports and observations from ski touring recently show even though snow pack tests show little energy in the pack, some local, large skier triggered avalanche activity--to ground in some cases.
The back country skiing right now is outstanding--don't let that cloud your judgment.
